Our "Green Stripes" Logo
Green Stripes - Display them with pride!
The Green Stripes logo of FHR 2013 is simple yet elegant, and rife with meaning.
GREEN is the color of life and health, but it's also much more than that. It reflects the fragility of life, the need for humans to protect and preserve life. It's about being responsible for ourselves, our neighbors, and our future. This is truly what FHR 2013 is all about.
In the spectrum of colors, green falls between and contains elements of both blue and yellow. Our three stripes reflect this, with the primary solid green bounded below by a blue-ish green stripe, and above by a yellow-ish green stripe.
BLUE evokes images of the ocean and the sky, the vast and timeless boundaries of our world. For us, these represent the traditional institutions and values that provide structure, stability, guidance and perpetuity to human society.
YELLOW calls to mind the sun, source of light and heat, without which there would be no growth, no life. This corresponds to the healthy emotions and aspirations of humanity, and the energy and dynamism which make family exciting and fulfilling.
Effective families have both the 'blue' and the 'yellow' qualities, and that's why all the stripes have elements of both. The pure green stripe is larger to give it prominence, to emphasize the importance of striking a balance. At the same time, one stripe has more yellow, and one has more blue, to be inclusive of those who lean one way or the other. Nevertheless, the black stripes at the top and the bottom emphasize the boundaries of the healthy spectrum, conveying the messages, "Don't go so blue that you have no yellow - don't let your family relationships become cold and stale!" and "Don't go so yellow that you have no blue - unbridled energy and passion are destructive and/or can dissipate into oblivion!"
