Celebrate Marriage!
Unfortunately, many people take marriage for granted. In some circles marriage has gotten a bad rap, due mainly to those who have been doing it wrong (see 'Family Fitness'). Even worse, some feel marriage has no value to them at all. The purpose of the Celebrate Marriage! campaign is to glorify the public image of marriage as the ideal adult relationship.
This campaign is in the earliest stages of consideration, as priority is given to the Family Fitness project. However, some of the ideas under consideration include:
"Family Pride" paraphernalia - bumper stickers, yard signs, flags, etc., enabling people to express their support and appreciation for marriage and family in positive, non-controversial ways.
Publicity events - 'Family Walk', gala Mother's Day event
"American Family" days - supporters can sport their paraphernalia on occasions such as July 4th, affirming the link between family values and patriotism
Public acknowledgement of weddings and anniversaries - eg. a billboard listing public figures celebrating their 10th wedding anniversary; a newspaper ad listing regular people celebrating significant anniversaries
